Synthetic Biology is just computer scientists screaming at biologists, "Enough already! We'll organize it all..."

While I'm at it, the basic ideas underlying synthetic biology are really quite simple, for those of you who are interested:
  1. Automated (DNA) Construction
  2. Standards of Abstraction
We want to move from an ad-hoc research approach to a scalable engineering framework. If anyone is interested in joining the UChicago research group, and preferably isn't an idiot, let me know...
