I need castles again, castles! Great stone towers, sheets of snow, driving wind, painful cold, drafty lecture halls, dark basements, old libraries, fireplaces, dusty books, winding stairwells, mugs of coffee, steaming soups, used book stores, thick carpets, high ceilings, stone gargoyles, hard work, long hours, and the sense of power and mystery that surrounds the place I most rightly call home. I miss the University of Chicago; I wish I never had to leave.

"Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling."
--GK Chesterton
