Whose dreams these are I think I know,
Her boss is on the campus, though;
He will not see me stopping here,
To bask in this screen's pale blue glow.
My little cat must think it queer
To ignore life year after year,
But between downtown and the lake,
All the world exists right here.
Her tranquil mind cannot partake
In hours spent alive-asleep;
Was ARPA's child a mistake?
This online world I cannot break.
The web is vast and talk is cheap,
But I have promises to keep,
And hours to go before I sleep,
